The Government’s backed PR apprenticeship scheme, run jointly by the PRCA and Pearson in Practice has been broadly welcomed by the UK public relations sector. The scheme has the potential to encourage greater diversity in PR and gives those taking part a hands-on experience, so pivotal to the industry.
Unfortunately, this morning, Pearson in Practice, announced their withdrawal from the business this morning.
PRCA Chief Executive Francis Ingham has responded to the news, reassuring that “this will have no impact on the future of the PR apprenticeship programme, or on the experience of current apprentices”.
Offering an explanation of any changes ahead, Ingham says: “The deliverers of the [apprenticeship] framework are all PRCA-approved trainers. The sole difference on delivery will be that at some point in the future, it will cease to occur at Pearson premises.”
